SGS Netherlands B.V. provides services through 5 business lines, among which SGS Industrial focuses on various technical inspections of industrial equipment. The NDO department inspects and monitors technical installations, from above-ground storage tanks to pipelines, from overseeing the construction of factories to inspection during a plant shutdown. Our NDO employees investigate critical welds and determine wall thickness reductions in structures, plates or pipe materials.
Important clients of our activities can be found in petrochemistry, construction of offshore platforms and pipelines, construction and storage terminals, and overall industry.
Radiographic testing is a form of NDT (non-destructive testing) examination. In radiography, ionizing radiation is used to penetrate materials and expose films or sensors. This can make the interior visible and thickness variations can be measured.
In process industry, during on-stream inspections, an object is penetrated with the main purpose of measuring the thickness and observing local damage. Sometimes it is also used to detect internal damage to valves, blockages, and other similar problems. As the name suggests, this examination can be carried out during operation.
In this position, you will also be involved in the following activities:
- Scanning and storing digital radiographic images (pipes/bends/etc.)
- Evaluating images and measuring wall thickness
- Providing NDT reports on on-stream radiographic testing
Certified ISO 9712 film reading level 2- Experience with radiographic testing/reading of drawings
- Experience with computer work
- Possession of a driver's license
